Happy Holidays

Leah KinsellaSoup d'jour

Hello Friends!

It’s holiday time! Can you feel it? I feel it in my body. It has been responding to my over thinking about everything! by tensing up. Which is reminding me to slow down, don’t sweat the small stuff and self care. At a time of year where in the past, we would strive to create warmth and comfort, today we are often rushing from one commitment to the other. Therefore, the importance of ‘quiet time’ or a practice that allows our body and nervous system to let go is vital. This doesn’t include sitting on the couch watching TV. I’m taking about restorative yoga, a massage, a warm bath, essential oils, closing your eyes and breathing. Take the time to revive your nervous system by dismantling the stress from external sources.
There are a myriad of simple practices we can do that in the long run, will help us thrive and enjoy the intensity of it all. Because, what are the seasons? But an opportunity to give thanks for our life and loved ones. They are our cyclical reminders of all the year has presented and what the future offers. So, be easy on yourself this season and enjoy the present moment with a little self care.

Mindful Moment: Stop whatever you are doing right now, close your eyes and take a deep breath.
